QUICK FIX / TERRAIN

Stop hitting Crackstone with the wrong tool.

A one-screen answer for a hard terrain blocker, plus the Demo-era advice that can send current players in the wrong direction.

DIRECT ANSWER

How to break Crackstone

Do not use the Shovel or Gun: neither damages Crackstone in the current official documentation. Use another digging tool. Crackstone will be destroyed and yields nothing.

TOOL COMPATIBILITY

What works—and what does not

The current Crackstone page defines two explicit failures and a broader working class.

ToolResultWhat to do
ShovelNO DAMAGE

Switch tools; more attempts will not solve the compatibility problem.

GunNO DAMAGE

Use a digging tool rather than a weapon.

Other digging toolsDESTROYS

Use an available digging tool appropriate to your current progression.

Material yieldNONE

Break it to clear terrain, not to collect a resource.

02

QUICK PROCEDURE

The three-step fix

  1. 01
    IDENTIFY

    Confirm the block is Crackstone

Do not diagnose every hard tile as the same material. Use the current UI or material information available in your run.

  2. 02
    STOP

Put away the Shovel or Gun

Their failure is expected behavior against Crackstone, not evidence that the tile is bugged.

  3. 03
    SWITCH

    Use another digging tool

Destroy the terrain and continue. Do not wait for a material drop; the current documented yield is none.

03

VERSION TRAP

Ignore the “Rocket Launcher only” claim

Old Demo evidence conflicts with the current official revision.

OLD DEMO ADVICE“Only the Rocket Launcher works.”Do not apply unchanged
CURRENT EARLY ACCESSShovel and Gun fail; other digging tools destroy it.Use current documentation
04

DIAGNOSIS

Still cannot break it?

  • 1
    Re-check the material name

The visual appearance alone may not be enough to identify the terrain.

  • 2
    Confirm you switched tool classes

Changing from one failing use of the same class does not test the documented answer.

  • 3
    Check your game branch

If the behavior differs from the current official page, note the version before trusting a legacy fix.

  • 4
    Do not expect a drop

No material appears after success, so terrain removal—not inventory change—is the completion signal.
